The Junior Sports Hub at the Bilal Sports Centre is a charity that has been helping out in Harehills for years now. They have provided a safe space for kids to express themselves through sports and activities, put on events during the holidays.

Bilal Sports Centre is right in the heart of Harehills, it can be found just of Ashton Road. Please do check in with them to see what’s on, and make sure your child is booked in.

Their approach to their goal is one of passion and commitment, and the kids there have nothing but great things to say about the service. If you want your kids to have an environment of enthusiasm and activity, it’s a great resource.

Recently this Bonfire Night, as part of a collection of diversionary events around Halloween Bonfire Night, Bilal Sports Centre working with Leeds Youth Services put on a series of sporting events, including cricket, badminton, a football tournament, crafts and apple bobbing.

It’s a fantastic service to the kids and the community, but there’s more than that happening. There are regular there are loads of regular sessions, and if you’re interested you should reach out to them to find out when and what.

Also, just saw this on their Facebook page, sounds like a fantastic opportunity for the budding footballers out there. This is for Reception and Year One pupils only, and please do get in contact with them at the details in the poster to book a place, (you must book before you go).

As with all charities, it’s worth looking at how you can support great works in the area, whether it’s through volunteering, donating, simply attending events.
