Call to Action: Volunteer Help Wanted for Harehills Winter Welcome 3rd December

Next Saturday is the epic and incredible multi-venue Harehills Winter Welcome.

Such a fantastic event though I can only work with help. The call has gone out for extra volunteers to help with the event, with multiple roles available.

Even if you can’t make it on the day, there are things like packing gift bags before the day, collecting donations or helping promote the event; on the day, there’s a variety of tasks you can support with, from helping to put up and take down the facilities in Banstead Park, helping to serve the food, providing a warm space in St Aidan’s Community Hall, or helping out support the craft activities. You can commit to specific periods if that helps you support the event, then make sure you let them know when you sign up.

There are places to help indoors and out, physically and mentally – there’s something for most people’s abilities and time commitments. And you get to make something people will enjoy happen, and that’s no small thing.

I’m signing up myself, putting my immense self to some use in helping get set up and take down after the event.

There’s something for most people to be able to do to help out. So if you want to sign up, there’s a form which you can fill in and email back. The form can be found here:

Then email Natalie Tharraleos (ntharraleos@gmail.com) or Ross Horley (harehillswinterwelcome@gmail.com)

It is a fantastic thing you do for the community if you can help us, but even if you can’t, I hope you can come to any of the events and have an enjoyable time.

I look forward to seeing as many of you there as possible. We all deserve something good after a tough year.
