A lot of great things have happened in Harehills this year For December, we should have an advent calendar of the great stories, 1 a day for 24 days Highlighting community events, celebrations, acts of compassion and kindness, of community coming together
Some of it maybe made it into the media, but it would be great to highlight all the things that were missed out Let’s shout about the great things in our home If people are interested, we can make this work
It would need people with stories, (I’m happy to write them, or for people to submit their own), photos would be good make it pop Most importantly, let’s have fun with it If people are interested, reply here or email jl @ aspiring. org
There’s been a lot of negative publicity of the area, in recent days, and it’s a perennial problem. I’m not saying it’s all unjustified, there are problems in the area. There are also dedicated, passionate good people and groups working together to improve things. There are also many great events, celebrations, achievements and milestones that don’t get seen.
I’d love to be able to catalogue of every act of compassion, kindness, joy and community – this blog isn’t big enough for that. We can gather up some highlights though, and through advent get the stories the community wants to tell out there.
Let’s celebrate the good, the great and the wonderful
